There's no need to give up hot chocolate with a vegan diet. Here's a great recipe from Create Mindfully to try. We also have a recipe to make your own almond milkto use.
Recipe type: Hot Beverage
Serves: 2 cups
  • 1.75 ounces 85% dark chocolate, finely grated (1/2 a bar)
  • 2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 drops stevia (optional)
  • full fat coconut milk (for whipped cream – optional)
  1. Mix coconut milk in a high speed blender or Nutribullet. Refrigerate.
  2. Bring almond milk to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Add in grated chocolate, vanilla extract, and stevia. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10 minutes, whisking constantly until chocolate is melted and almond milk is frothy.
  3. Top with whipped coconut milk and grated chocolate.
