Things have changed. I am reluctant to admit it. It was great while it lasted, but now there are other things to look forward to. Such as, warm drinks with liquor!
The transition I dramatically referenced above is the change from the amazing long-lasting summer we were experiencing, to the all too familiar cool wet fall of the Pacific Northwest. The good news is the colors outside are beautiful through the raindrops, and we are now getting the urge to settle in with a warm drink each night.
Of course we had to start out with some inspiration. A quick trip to the pumpkin patch took care of the appropriate decor!
Then it was down to business. Pumpkin business. I loved the simplicity of this recipe. Five ingredients in all (I guess six if you count the whipped cream). We used Ghirardelli white chocolate chips, canned pumpkin puree, milk and pumpkin pie spice. Our booze of choice was Kahlua.
Within 10 minutes, we had a delicious night cap! The recipe provided the perfect mix of creamy white chocolate flavor and pumpkin spice. This drink would be the ideal dessert for a harvest meal or just to make in the evening as nice treat! We found this recipe on the Minimalist Baker.
