Do you like to drink almond milk? It’s extremely easy to make and I’ve included a recipe for you to try. Part of the fun in making hot chocolate is to play around with the different kinds of milk one can use. A couple of friends suggested that I make almond milk and I’m glad I did!
Almond milk is perfect for vegetarian and vegan diets and a healthy alternative when making hot chocolate. I found an easy recipe from Minimalist Baker and it pairs well with our recipe, Sugar Free Hot Chocolate. Both recipes are saved on our website.
The whole process takes about 15 minutes to make (not including time to soak the almonds), and you have a fresh beverage that will store for 3 or 4 days in the refrigerator. I also like the thought of knowing there are no additives.
Start with raw almonds
Soak them overnight in a bowl of water
Blend in filtered water
Remove pulp from the almond milk
Drink or use in hot chocolate recipe
It’s that simple.
